ABOUT
Olivia Jones is an Irish artist, originally from Co. Monaghan, she now lives along the west coast of Ireland in Co. Sligo. From an early age Olivia was influenced by form and structure as she explored materials in her father’s workshop.
This inspired her to follow a career in architecture and furniture design, until pivoting to a role in environmental education. This unique combination of experiences can be seen in her work, often showing natural and organic shapes restrained with architectural elements.
Olivia works on canvas, wood and paper. She enjoys exploring the juxtaposition of freedom and control in her art-making, resulting in a style that is both expressionistic and graphically strong.
Her process includes hard-edge and print techniques, fluid backdrops and decorative mark-making. Olivia works have been exhibited in many locations in Ireland, and some of her works on paper are represented by US based online-gallery, Artly International.
